During the first two years of the COVID19 pandemic, many festivities were cancelled in Japan, including one of the great summer traditions, the Matsuri. In 2022, most of the citizens of various districts of Osaka city decided, despite the biggest wave of contamination that the country has ever experienced, to resume their summer Matsuri, like the district of Uchindai located in the north-east of the city which, after two years of interruption, started again its annual Uchindai Natsu Danjiri Matsuri.
